One Adjustable Welding Square. Two Sizes for Different Jobs.
Choose MLA450 for a more compact setup or MLA600 for a larger body and stronger magnetic pull. Both models help hold ferrous metal at adjustable angles while keeping your hands free for fit-up, alignment and tack welding.
Same Adjustable Concept. Two Different Sizes & Pull Forces.
Both models cover a wide 30°–270° angle range and include an angle setting pin. The main difference is size and magnetic pull force.
COMPACT OPTION
MLA450
4.7" Size
30°–270° adjustable angle range
26 lb magnetic pull force
Inside / outside magnetic positioning
Angle setting pin
Better for smaller parts & tighter setups
LARGER / STRONGER
MLA600
6" Size
30°–270° adjustable angle range
33 lb magnetic pull force
Inside / outside magnetic positioning
Angle setting pin
Better for larger workpieces & stronger hold
The hardest part of many welding jobs is not the weld — it is holding two pieces at the right angle long enough to tack them.
THE PROBLEM FABRICATORS KNOW
Fixed-Angle Magnets Work — Until the Job Is Not Fixed at 45° or 90°.
Custom brackets, tube assemblies, sheet-metal fabrication and repair work often land between common preset angles. An adjustable magnetic square gives you more freedom without building a new fixture for every joint.
FIXED MAGNETLimited to Preset Angles
Useful for standard joints, but restrictive when fabrication calls for a custom angle.
MLA450 / MLA600Adjust From 30° to 270°
Set the square to the angle the work requires, then hold the parts while you align and tack.
WHY IT EARNS SPACE ON THE WELDING BENCH
More Setup Freedom Without Adding More Hands.
Both MLA450 and MLA600 are designed to work like a magnetic third hand during metal fit-up.
↔
30°–270° Adjustable RangeSet acute, right, obtuse and wide-open angles instead of being locked into a few preset positions.
📐
Angle Setting PinQuickly establish common reference positions while keeping the square secure during setup.
🧲
Inside / Outside Magnetic HoldPosition the tool outside the joint when inside access is limited or needed for welding.
🔩
Works Across Fabrication JobsUseful with compatible ferrous sheet, flat stock, tubing, brackets and fabricated steel parts.
ADJUST · POSITION · HOLD · TACK
Built Around the Setup Process.
01
Choose the Joint Angle
Adjust the magnetic square to match the geometry of your workpiece.
02
Set the Position
Use the angle setting pin to help lock in the working position before fit-up.
03
Let the Magnets Hold
The magnetic faces help keep ferrous workpieces positioned while you check alignment.
04
Tack With Both Hands Free
Spend less time balancing parts by hand and more time controlling the actual fabrication.
MLA450 VS MLA600
Which Model Should You Choose?
MLA450 · 4.7"Compact & Easier in Tight Areas
Choose the MLA450 when smaller overall size matters and a 26 lb pull force is appropriate for your setup.
MLA600 · 6"Larger Body & Stronger Pull
Choose the MLA600 when you want a larger working footprint and the stronger 33 lb magnetic pull.
Quick rule: MLA450 = smaller / lighter-duty positioning. MLA600 = larger / stronger positioning. Choose based on workpiece size, access space and the holding force your setup needs.
BUILT FOR REAL FABRICATION WORK

FABRICATOR-STYLE EXPERIENCES
Why Adjustable Beats “One Angle Fits All.”
★★★★★
“I use the smaller MLA450 for brackets and compact tube work where there is not much room around the joint. The adjustable angle saves me from stacking blocks or grabbing a different magnet every time.”

★★★★★
“The MLA600 is the one I reach for on larger frame pieces. The extra size and stronger 33 lb pull feel more appropriate when the workpiece is bigger, while still giving me the same adjustable-angle flexibility.”

★★★★★
“Having two size options makes sense. The 4.7-inch model fits tighter setups, while the 6-inch model gives me a larger footprint when I need more holding force. Both are much more flexible than fixed-angle magnets.”

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Choose the Right Model Before You Order.
What is the difference between MLA450 and MLA600?
The MLA450 is the smaller 4.7-inch model with a 26 lb magnetic pull force. The MLA600 is the larger 6-inch model with a stronger 33 lb magnetic pull force.
Do both models adjust from 30° to 270°?
Yes. Both MLA450 and MLA600 are designed with a 30°–270° adjustable angle range.
Do both models include an angle setting pin?
Yes. Both models include an angle setting pin for easier positioning.
Which model should I choose for smaller workpieces?
MLA450 is generally the better fit when you want a more compact 4.7-inch tool for smaller parts or tighter work areas.
Which model offers stronger magnetic pull?
MLA600 offers the stronger rated magnetic pull at 33 lb, compared with 26 lb for MLA450.
Can the magnets hold from the outside of the joint?
Yes. Both are inside/outside magnetic welding squares, making them useful when the inside of the joint is difficult to access.
Will they work on stainless steel or aluminum?
Magnetic holding requires ferrous material. Many stainless alloys and aluminum are non-magnetic, so confirm your workpiece is magnetic before relying on the square for holding force.
Are these precision measuring tools?
They are primarily holding and positioning tools. For critical fabrication tolerances, verify the final angle with a square, protractor or dedicated measuring tool before completing the weld.
Does paint or rust affect holding force?
Yes. Paint, rust, scale, uneven surfaces and air gaps can reduce magnetic contact and therefore reduce effective holding force.
Can I use them for tack welding?
Yes. They are especially useful for holding ferrous workpieces in position during fit-up and tack welding before the joint is fully welded.
